You can enhance your health insurance plan in a number of ways. We offer a variety of specialty coverage1 and optional benefit choices to help you protect your finances and better prepare for the unexpected.
Why Add to Your Health Plan?
These benefits go above what is normally covered with individual health insurance. People add these coverages to their health plan for a number of reasons. If a major illness or accident happens, you want to make sure your family is cared for. Critical Illness Insurance and the Accidental Death Benefit can provide a lump sum of cash when a qualifying event happens, such as cancer or death of a covered spouse.
Other choices, such as Vision Insurance, International Medical Insurance2, and Mental Disorders and Substance Abuse Benefit, offer coverage for specific health care situations.
Specialty Plans vs. Optional Benefits
Some of the following are standalone products, meaning you don’t need a UnitedHealthOneSM plan to apply for coverage. Optional benefits, however, must be added to a UnitedHealthOneSM plan. You can typically apply for these for a relatively modest premium each month, depending on availability.
No one wants to think about the death or illness of a loved one. Pretending it won’t happen doesn’t mean it can’t. Help make sure you and your family are prepared.
Health-Need Specific Coverages
Not everyone needs eye glasses, ADHD medication or health insurance abroad. Some people do, however, and you can apply for the coverages below to make your UnitedHealthOneSM plan better fit your needs.
