What are some ways to prevent skin cancer?
The hours between 10 a.m. and 4 p.m. have the most damaging rays from the sun. UV rays are even more damaging during summer.
Ways to avoid skin cancer:
- Wear SPF 15 or higher
- Wear clothes to protect skin exposed to the sun
- Wear sunglasses that protect against UV and UVB rays
- Wear a hat to protect your scalp and hair lines
- Seek shade whenever possible especially during the middle of the day
- Reapply sunscreen every two hours while outside
- Watch out for moles that change shape or color
