How much fiber should be in my diet?
The Dietary Guidelines for Americans stated in January 2005, that the recommended dietary fiber intake is 14 grams per 1,000 calories consumed. Based on a 2,000 calorie diet, you would need to eat 28 grams of fiber.
Why Fiber? Fiber helps you feel more full, thus, you eat less calories. Fiber also aids in digestion and can help lower cholesterol.
