Cardiovascular diseases, including heart attack and stroke, are our nation’s No. 1 killer. Your heart’s health depends on many factors. Know the conditions that increase your risk for heart disease:
- High cholesterol.
- High blood pressure.
- Smoking.
- Having a family history of heart disease.
- Obesity.
- Not getting enough exercise.
- Diabetes.
- Being older than age 45 for men, and older than 55 for women.
