Individual and Family Health Insurance

Insurance that is not directly related to employment or an employer group is considered individual and/or family health insurance. The individual owns the policy. In most states, the applicants’ medical records are reviewed to determine insurability. A health insurance company may decline coverage or increase premiums due to certain medical histories or conditions.
