Durable Medical Equipment (DME)
Durable medical equipment is equipment that can withstand repeated use and is used primarily to serve a medical purpose. DME generally is appropriate for use in home and is not useful in the absence of an illness or injury. Examples include hospital beds, wheelchairs, and oxygen equipment.
